Oocyte donation

The miracle of a new life begins with fertilization, when sperm and egg unite.

There is an increasing number of women that cannot conceive a child as their ovaries produce very little or no eggs; or created embryos are not developing properly. This is common mostly for women over the age of 40, where methods of artificial fertilization (IVF) with their own eggs yield very little success but affected can also be younger women. Some women, in need of egg donation, are carriers of hereditary genetic disease that prevents the possibility of delivering a healthy child.

For these couples, there are several options:

1. Decide to spend their life childless
2. Decide to adopt a child
3. Select the possibility of egg donation.

Currently, today’s medicine doesn’t offer any other option.

Egg donation is one of the most successful methods of sterility treatment. Eggs retrieved from an anonymous healthy donor are fertilized by the sperm of the patient’s partner and created embryos are then transferred into the recipient’s uterus – future mother.

Our clinic offers a complex program of egg (oocyte) donation.

Specialized team of physicians has many years of experience in egg donation program and reaches pregnancy success rate of 55-60% for one treatment cycle.

Law of the Czech Republic and politics of our clinic require mutual anonymity for all donor gametes (eggs and sperm) cycles.

Egg donor information

With the advent of European Union laws, especially the European tissue directive (under which IVF methods and donation of reproductive cells fall under), Reprofit International clinic is required to comply.

Beginning 2010, pursuant the donor’s privacy, only information regarding their year of birth and blood type will be provided. Other information (hair/eye colour, height and weight) will not be provided to the patients.

The donor selection by the physician will still proceed early enough in advance with the goal of reaching the best possible match. All egg and sperm donors must have a minimum of 12 years of education. We also guarantee that our donors are citizens of the Czech Republic (Caucasian).
